Mein successful in Strikeforce debut

Tonight was a huge win for Canadian welterweight Jordan "Young Gun" Mein, as he took out Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos with brutal standing elbows in the third round of their Strikeforce fight.

As I write that above sentence, apart of me wants to remain professional and neutral, completing stuffing the emotions and excitement I have for Jord. The other part of me thinks, "F*ck that."

...You probably have a pretty good idea as to how I am going to approach writing the rest of this.

Team CMC congregated to the Shark Club bar in Lethbridge, along with countless other friends, fans and sponsors, waiting for Jord to make his Strikeforce debut. Three fights in, it would happen. Gosh, that seemed like a life time for me, and for many others. I imagined how his mother and sister were feeling...

The buzz and excitement could be felt in the air as Jordan walked to the cage. The bar erupted in noise and cheers. This would continue every time Jord would land a big punch through out the fight. Everyone was nervous but everyone was excited beyond words... their friend was finally getting the chance he deserved to showcase this skills.

After the first round went to Cyborg, Jord came out in the second looking much more like himself. The third round he looked even better. Big shots landed and eventually he would finish the fight with crazy standing elbows. The place went nuts. Everyone cheered and screamed. Many of us cried.

Jord is someone who I know, thanks to our mutual home at The Canadian Martial Arts Centre, in Lethbridge AB. Yes, he has unreal talent. Yes, he has so much fight experience. But beyond that, he comes from a really great family. He is friendly and humble. He gives me big hugs when ever I open my arms at him (and trust me, I'm a hugger). He is warm hearted and kind... He truly is just a really good person.

With tonight's win, the rest of the MMA world finally gets to see what we have known for so long...

Congratulations to you Jordan... and to your family. You all have so much to be proud of.
